Happy New Year!!!!

FROM THE HONORARY PRESIDENT

Happy New Year SOSA Family!!!

I do hope that everyone had a great holiday season, and may the New Year brings you peace, happiness, good health, and success!

The past year, I was going 100 miles/ hour, the busiest we've ever had, but truly enjoyable and rewarding! Let's hope that this year will be less hectic!
I'm very proud of what SOSA has accomplished, and would like to acknowledge the YOSC December Luncheon hosted by SOSA. The SOSA Luncheon Committee did an amazing job. A big round of applause to Rachel (the Mastermind), Dorinda, Sandi Boggs and Yoshie Olsen who gave 110% support to this event. You guys rock! You represented SOSA very well!
And amazingly...I survived that night with 25 people  in my house for a dinner party in honor of RDML Berube. Thank you ladies for helping out! I might not have survived that day without you guys!

A special thank you to  Sarah Louise who hosted the October Bunko; it was a small group but we had a great time! And to Michelle and Elizabeth for putting together the Progressive Dinner, which, I heard it was a blast. To each and everyone who supported last year's events, thank you so much! The more you attend SOSA get-togethers, the more you get to know each other. Please give us a chance to get to know you all! Come join us...it is a fun group!

Congratulations to the Clousers and the Fitches on the arrival of Nanami and Jase, respectively. They are both beautiful babies, and growing like weeds!

I would like to thank all the SOSA Board members for their dedication in running our group, and making last year a truly successful one.  What a Family we have!

And let's not forget to thank Elizabeth Stahl,  who continues to do a wonderful job working on our Web Page, and of course as our SOSA VP;  we appreciate it very much. Thank you!!!!

To all the ladies who are always there to help out and support our events, I would like to express my deepest appreciation.

Let's continue to keep Jack Rabanal in our thoughts and  prayers, as he continues to improve.

Looking forward to another great year!

Love to you all,
Gemma

FROM THE PRESIDENT

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families enjoyed a wonderful
Christmas and a warm holiday season with family and friends. It’s been crazy in the Clouser household these last couple of months as I’m sure you can
imagine with a new baby. In that end, I want to thank all of you who brought
dinners to our family in the first weeks of Nanami’s arrival.

In looking back, we started out our year with some successful events
and so we look forward to some more fun and support to our members in the next half. Back in November, we finally had our Progressive Dinner.
Elizabeth and Michelle did a great job of impromptu hosting the whole dinner in Sakura Heights. The ambiance you provided was extremely romantic and relaxing and added a very nice touch before beginning the holiday season madness.
Thank you to all who contributed to the evening and it was really very nice to share a calm evening indoors out of the nasty rain and wind.

In December, SOSA’s ladies hosted the Christmas YOSC Luncheon. Thanks to Gemma, Dorinda, Sandi, and friend of SOSA, Yoshie Olsen, for all their
efforts and talents to make that luncheon extremely successful! It was
wonderful to see our members at the Annual Ornament and Cookie
exchange. Thank you, Gemma, for hosting this event again this year! I know I took some yummy treats home! Thanks to all who brought those cookies!

Coming up in the New Year, we’ve got some great events planned starting
with Girls’ Night Out at Hotel Trinity on January 13 and Bunko night soon. I
value these meetings and events as opportunities to get to know you all
better. This group has been my support system while we’ve been overseas
and I hope that each one of us can rely on this group for whatever needs we
might have (Read: Thanks again for all your support. Please let me know
how I, or the SOSA Board, can be of help to you.).

Here’s an update on Jack Rabanal’s status. He’s been in a local
Yokohama hospital with an undetermined fever for just about a month now. He has responded fairly to the treatment at the hospital and was able to come
home for the New Year’s weekend. But because the doctors still aren’t sure
what is causing his illness, he’s to return to the hospital after the
holiday. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Christine is staying
with Jack during the week while Paul goes in for the weekends.

Sincerely,
Rachel Clouser,
